Today, I return to a form of writing that was my first love. The genre is popularly called fiction, but I prefer the term "parable." It's not just a story; it's a lesson, a revelation released from my imagination. I've embarked on a journey to craft an anthology of parabolic stories, each one based on an aspect of love from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8.
As I sit down before my laptop, with a blank page, I can't help but reflect on the power of storytelling and how it threads through the fabric of our lives. My desire is to explore the many facets of love through my stories, to bring out the wisdom and depth that can be found in these verses.
This endeavor is a combination of storytelling and spirituality. Love, after all, is the cornerstone of human existence, and my hope is that these parables will resonate with readers, touching their hearts and souls in a profound way.
I’ll be using my system of writing a book in 21 days. For 21 days starting today, I’ll be creating a story on the attributes of love listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
Each parable will convey the essence of love as a protector, a trust builder, a source of hope, and an unwavering presence. Each parable serves as a mirror reflecting the complex, beautiful, and ever-evolving nature of love.
This return to writing stories has filled me with a profound sense of gratitude. This project has not only rekindled my passion for writing but also deepened my understanding of the profound message in 1 Corinthians 13. Love is not just a feeling; it's a way of being, a way of living, a way of interacting with the world.
The journey of writing this anthology has been a spiritual awakening for me, a reminder that love is the most potent force in the universe, capable of transforming hearts and lives. I hope that these parables will resonate with readers, encouraging them to reflect on their own experiences of love and to seek the beauty and wisdom that lies within it.
